For the first time, the athletes of Swiss Aquatics went to a international competition with equipment from arena. The result was 18 national records and four medals.

The Swiss delegation performed well at the European Swimming Championships in Budapest. Since this year, the athletes of Swiss Aquatics have been reaching for the stars in arena (we reported) and successfully so: from 13 participations in the finals, three medals resulted for Switzerland. Jérémy Desplanches narrowly missed defending his title in the 200m medley, but secured second place in a strong field. Lisa Mamié also took silver in the 200m breaststroke. Roman Mityukov took home a bronze medal in the 200m backstroke.

The Swiss Aquatics diving team also won a medal at the European Championships in Budapest. Michelle Heimberg won a medal in the first competition of the European Championships. After a sovereign victory in the preliminary competition, she also showed her best side in the final and won the silver medal.

CHRIS sports congratulates the athletes of Swiss Aquatics on their great performances in Budapest!
