Keen is an outdoor brand with innovative, hybrid products that inspire outdoor enthusiasts to lead an active lifestyle.
Founded in 2003 by Martin Keen and Rory Fuerst, the company became well known for its Newport outdoor sandal featuring the KEEN Patented Toe Protection technology. Building on this tremendous success, KEEN has since developed a broad range of outdoor and leisure products and concentrates primarily on the production of top-quality hiking shoes and all-round outdoor and leisure products. Technology and innovation are combined with a casual look and fashion highlights. As of 2010, certain products are now manufactured at KEEN's own factory in Portland, Oregon.
When it comes to integrity and a social and ecological sense of responsibility, KEEN strives to take a trail-blazing position and at the same time encourage a lively, inclusive community for all types of outdoor enthusiasts. With its "Hybrid.Care" initiative created in 2005, KEEN supports a large number of aid and environmental protection organizations around the world, such as the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) and Respect the Mountains.
